The Challenge of Artificial Intelligence for Human Society
and the Idea of the Human Person

Palazzo della Cancelleria | 21 October 2021

The aim of this symposium is to stimulate informed conversation concerning the likely social and cultural impact of Artificial Intelligence on humanity. In recognition of the complexity of the issues being raised, the symposium features international speakers with expertise in ethics, neuroscience, philosophy, theology, law and politics. The objective is to promote a truly inter-disciplinary dialogue between the presenters and with the invited public, which includes representatives from relevant curial offices, diplomats and academics. The symposium is the latest in a number of events and programmes through which the Pontifical Council for Culture has been seeking to deepen ecclesial reflection and engagement.
