Alanda Kariza
Alanda Kariza is a young author and public speaker. She has been working in the youth empowerment field since the age of 15. She co-founded Youth Synergy, a youth community whose objective is to empower young people’s potentials for them to be able to positively contribute towards the development of Indonesia. Its main programme, the Indonesian Youth Conference, has gathered more than 3,000 youngsters, and reached around 50,000 people through the media as well as fringe events, to discuss about the current issues faced by young people and present unprecedented solutions to solve them. The conference brings up issues that affect young people, some of which are being discussed less frequently by the public, such as pluralism, human rights, and anti-corruption. Alanda has been named as a “global changemaker” by Ashoka, British Council, and One Young World.
In the Plenary Assembly, she is going to share her perspectives as a young woman growing up in Indonesia, the third-largest democracy, which also is the home of the largest Muslim population.
